Travelin'

We are going to be traveling tomorrow and I am really dreading it...and we have to do it again in about 3 weeks to come home for Christmas!  Jordan is sleeping, I am packing and Mom is helping me gather all of the mountain of baby things scattered around the house.  As usual, we are leaving with more than we came with.  I'm going to have to leave some things here!  We visited Santa today at the mall (more about that later!) and we got to go see a movie!  We never get to go out and I knew there would be no way we would be seeing Four Christmases anytime soon, so Gran and Aunt Janna took JM around the mall to shop while we went to see the movie!  It was cute and I liked it a lot.  I love Christmas romatic comedies!

I found out the weather forecast for home and I am NOT excited.  You should have seen the look I shot Jordan when he told me there could be snow or freezing rain.  Ugh.  Winter is coming too soon and I just don't want to be driving in it tomorrow.  Hopefully, we will have a safe, cry-free trip back home!  It will be nice coming home to an already decorated house!

On a more random note:

Look at these itty-bitty teeny-weeny baby tomatoes that came out of my grandfather's garden.  I think they are precious!

Verse O' the Day:

Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.

I know the trips are long and hard with a baby, but we LOVED having y'all here!!!!!!! We had SO much fun with JM, seeing him sitting up playing with toys, watching TV, and eating his homemade baby foods in a high chair that all 3 of you kids used. But the cutest things was him playing and splashing in the bath tub - sooooo cute!!! And of course all of us watching the Alabama vs. Auburn game Sat., with JM in his cute Alabama jersey!
I pray for a safe journey home and some rest when you get home. Enjoy your Christmas decorations, the joy of a baby's first Christmas (just as Jesus was a tiny babe in Bethlehem), and I hope you have a meaningful Christmas season (before you head back again).
One correction though. The tiny tomatoes came from MY 2 heirloom tomato vines. Right before the first hard freeze of the season, I went out and picked almost all of the green ones off of the 2 vines and put them in the window, hoping they would turn. One is a small yellow tomato and one is a red tiny cherry tomato. And they are turning. We may have a few in salads tonight.
Anyway, we miss all of you already and cannot wait until you come back!! After that, I don't know what we will do, not getting to see y'all so often. You have spoiled us since before Halloween. I guess we will go through "Mary Avery, Jordan and JM withdrawal"! HA
Love your blog - please keep it up. It helps ease our seperation from y'all, a little!
Love to you all and give JM a giant kiss and hug from Meme, Papa, Uncle Raymond and Uncle Judd.

It was such a fabulous Thanksgiving with all our children and that very precious grandchild here. He is such a joy to have, hold, rock, play with, and of course kiss on. It seems so quiet now. We were already missing y'all before you even left to go back. We know how hard the trip is with a small baby and a dog, but just know how much we appreciate the effort you make to be with us during the holidays. We feel so blessed to be able to share such special moments with all of you and to see each milestone of John Michael's life unfold. He is getting to be such a big boy....sitting up so big, drinking from his "big boy" cup, eating new foods, splish splashing in the tub, and smiling in Santa's lap. Just cherish each day with him because just like the Kenny Chesney song goes.....

Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old
and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five
and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads
next thing you know your "better half"
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink

We love you all and are looking forward to seeing again for John Michael's first Christmas. We will pray that you all get some rest and have a safe trip back home to us again. Give John Michael a kiss on the neck from Grams.
