Life's A Zoo

We had the most gorgeous weather last weekend.  We woke up on Saturday and had a yummy breakfast and as we sat there and talked and looked out at the sunshine, we thought we should actually do something with our day instead of just hanging around or just going to a local park.  So, we decided to get packed up (no small feat) and head to the Tulsa Zoo!

We had never been before and it's a two hour drive so I was a little apprehensive!  We ate along the way and got there around 2ish.  It was packed!  Now, it's not a zoo that you could spend all day at, but 2-3 hours is plenty.

It was our first time to try out our new Sit-n-stand stroller.  JM did well sitting in the back and Matthew was in the front!  I ended up putting Matthew in his sling for most of it and JM wasn't actually in the stroller that much, so we pushed around an empty stroller for most of the day!

JM liked the elephants!  I love elephants.  They're just so big and I enjoy watching them.

We watched the monkeys play

JM did a good job being a bigger boy that day!  He held our hands and walked a lot.

This is what Matthew thought of the zoo!

For some reason, the meerkats cracked JM up!  He thought they were hilarious!

Tiger, Tiger ROAR!

The penguins were fun to watch, too!

Just being silly!

JM also loved the flamingos!  He just laughed and laughed!  He also learned to say "flamingo" but it comes out more like "na-ne-noo!"

Overall, it was a fun day!  We got out of the house, spent some good time together, and had fun!  What else could you ask for?!

That was a fun day! Now the ride back with my 6-foot frame in the 3rd-row seat was interesting, but all in all was still a fun day. :-)

I love how JM is still saying "Bye Bye" whenever he hears the word "Elephant". I guess he still remembers telling them bye-bye on our way out.

Love you baby. See you in a bit for pictures!

That looks like so much fun! We are planning to take Brayden soon. Chris' mom lives in Tulsa, so it will likely be whenever we go visit her next!
