O-o-o-h, We're Halfway There!

We are officially halfway through this thing called pregnancy!  I am 20 weeks today!  It's such an exciting landmark to hit and I can't believe how fast it's flown by this time.  I am so much better than last time.  I was only sick for around 7 weeks and I have not had too much of the cold/sinus/lung issues that plagued me with my first pregnancy.  We don't even have that many pictures of me from JM's pregnancy because I was so sick.

My hips haven't ached quite as much and I just feel good.  The tiredness was really bad in the very beginning, then got much better, and then it has seemed to hit me very hard the last two days or so.  I think I'm just tuckered out from not napping and being more busy while we're home visiting.  Luckily, we are around wonderful grandparents, so I have help with John Michael and I can go nap!  I'm not used to such luxury!

So...here's a few fun facts about this point in my pregnancy, just in case you were dying to know!

-From this point the baby can be measured from head to toe instead of crown to rump!

-The baby is the size of a banana!

-The baby is swallowing fluid!

-The baby weighs about 10.5 oz now!

-Oh yeah, and a fun medical fact is that the uterus is officially considered an "abdominal organ".

Our ultrasound appointment is one week away and we are still up in the air about finding out the sex.  I think there are too few true surprises in life, so that's why we may not find out the sex.  Plus, I definitely need some good motivation in the delivery room. We still have a week to think about it.  I'm so excited, plus nervous that everything checks out OK.

My 20 week side view in my super sweet new maternity wear!

We are off to Tuscaloosa in the morning for a much-too-short visit with my grandparents.  I know we'll have a fun time but I won't have internet.  So sad!  Also, JM will be sleeping in a pack-n-play so I'm really nervous about that.  I'm hoping he won't notice that it's tiny and on the floor!  Have a happy week!

A Quick Glimpse

Here's a quick glimpse of what we've been up to while we're still hanging around Alabama!  We've been eating way too much good food, which is really bad because I have my 20 week doctor's appointment right when we get home and I'm probably not going to want to get on the scale.  We've done some fun things, but mostly jwe've ust hang around and visited.

John Michael has played on his splash pad...

We have visited Jordan's Aunt Dot....

Gone to Papa's office to visit him and all the ladies in the office...

And we also went to Noccalula Falls to ride the train and visit the petting zoo!  Gran and Gamps took John Michael one afternoon while I was busy and so when I got home we went again and had a lot of fun!  Here we are riding the little train.

Next, we visited the big lion!  Roar!  JM wasn't scared at all, although he looks less than thrilled to be there.

JM was excited to try and pet the big mule/horse thing.  Gross.

This picture scares the CRAP out of me!!

And here he is trying to pet a big rabbit through the glass.

He was also pretty interested in getting close to this goat.

At the horse/mule thing again.

I would say it looks like he had a pretty good time, wouldn't you say?!

Verse O' the Day:

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy.

Honk, Honk!

What do you do when you get a pool float with a steering wheel and horn?!  You sit in it in the den and watch TV, of course!

John Michael loves this little pool float, although lately he hasn't been too thrilled with swimming.  I'm not sure why.  Hopefully he'll come around and feel like swimming again!

He loves to crawl inside and honk the horm and "drive"!  What a silly guy.

We are still having such a great time here with the grandparents.  I've got more cute pictures but I'm too tired to upload them.  We're going shopping today so it should be a fun day for all!  Happy Thursday!

The 4th and Such

Of course we had a fantastic 4th because we spent it swimming, grilling, and eating with our family!  On Friday I finally got my hair cut and colored and I am in short hair heaven!  I am loving my new cut.  I'll try and post a picture sometime soon!  Here's our long weekend in pictures!

Here we are at our long stop-over for lunch in Mississippi.  It took forever to eat in the car.  We couldn't go in because Jack was in the car and he would have gotten too hot.  It took us the full 12 hours to get back home.

After our lunch stop we put Jack in the back with John Michael.  They rode together pretty well for a while and JM enjoyed reaching over to pet Jack!

Friday morning we started out the day by swimming in our new swimmy suit while I went to the beauty shop for the morning!  Here's JM all ready to go swimming at Gram's!

John Michael had fun swimming with Daddy!

Jackson had to find a cool place while they swam!

After all the swimming and then napime we headed over to Meme and Papa's house for lunch with my Dad's  side of the family.  They were so excited to come see John Michael.  Here's JM helping Papa grill out.

Here's John Michael playing with his new pool inside the house!

Two proud great-aunts!

Friday night we quickly headed out to First Friday downtown.  We couldn't stay too long, though, because Jordan and I were going on a date night to the movies that night.  We ran into our friends Lindsey and Asa and their two boys Gabe and Landon!  I wish we could have stayed for the fireworks that night!

Saturday morning JM woke up on the wrong side of the bed.  He was not a happy fellow.  We did go swimming and he wasn't too happy with that, either.  After we swam with Papa we played basketball in the yard.  John Michael was very ready for his nap that morning.

After two naps John Michael was ready to come out and eat Bar-B-Q with all of us!  He looooves BBQ!

And of course, I told Uncle Ray that he could feed John Michael Meme's homemade ice cream.  YUUUM-O!

Whew, I'm getting tired just typing about our weekend!  On Sunday morning I headed out solo to Tuscaloosa to attend a christening for my good friend Lydia and her husband, Michael!  I got to pay each grandparent a quick little visit while I was in town and then I hit the road and came back home to my boys.

Here's Baby K in her beautiful christening gown and hat that her grandmother made for her.  It was beautiful and K looked beautiful in it!  She is so precious.  I'm so glad I got to meet her before she's crawling everywhere!

Here's my Alpha Gam Big Sis!  She looked beautiful on Sunday holding her beautiful new baby girl.  Congraulations to Lydia and Michael on their precious baby girl!  I can't wait to see her grow up!

Weekend, Part 2

OK, so I'm back with our weekend wrap-up post.  There was so much stuff on Saturday and Sunday that I couldn't fit it all in one post!  On Saturay afternoon, after a little nap we headed to a local park for a Sunday School get together.  I can sum it up in one word:  HOT.  Really hot and humid.

John Michael really enjoyed his dinner at the park!

Dinner time and Daddy and John Michael!

Look at those curls!  It was so humid!

After we ate we headed down to a little creek at the park.  I am not kidding when I tell you it was at least 10 degrees cooler and the water was freezing.  It was so nice and refreshing.  The waterfalls were quite neat and it was just a very cool place to be in the middle of all that heat!

On Sunday afternoon we went downtown to attend "Celebrate America".  Our church put on the celebration and it was really good.  The singing was great, the speaker was great, and the flyover jets at the end were awesome.  We were a little late because I had to make dinner.  I SO wish I had known there were hot dogs and things like that there!  We would have been on time and had good seats!  Either way, we had a great time just watching everything and walking around!

I have no idea what this look is, but it's hilarious that I caught it on camera!

Eating a yummy popsicle!  I guess it's his first!

We ran into Wells and his Dada.

Our little family!

We also ran into Kinley!  Don't they look so cute standing next to each other!

And here's John Michael doing his favorite activity: "pushing" his stroller!  Of course we had to put him in his cute 4th of July outfit that his Meme got him!  It is too cute.  I just want to eat him up in that outfit.  I sure wish I got cuter and cuter everyday.
